What's the best New Year's resolution for 2025?

What's the best New Year's resolution for 2025?

With only 10 days before the end of 2024, many are beginning to think about resolutions for 2025. Invariably, in recent decades, most New Year's resolutions primarily fall in one of two categories: health and wealth. That is good. However, if you think about it, the top resolution every year should be improving safety.

Typical examples of health related resolutions include losing weight, eating better, meditating, and reducing social media use. Examples on the financial side include saving more, getting another job, earning more, and investing. All that is good and well. However, improving safety practices can be significantly more important and impactful to your health and wealth than all those typical resolutions combined.

Safey First

Most of us want better health and more money. That's because we associated those with the possibility of living for longer and living better. At the end of every year we look forward to having better health and financial outcomes in the next year. That makes perfect sense. What we often overlook is the oversized impact that a safety mishap can have in health and wealth, and our ability to live long and well.

In a split of a second, any one of us can can a safety mishap or "accident" that can jeopardize our health and wealth. n most cases, accidents could have been avoided with better safety practices. Forensic reviews of most accidents reveal that either the accidents or some of their consequences could have been avoided or mitigated with better safety precautions and practices. Even in the cases of natural disasters and other "acts of God", safety precautions such as adequate emergence preparedness could have improved outcomes.

Cultivating safety as a habit can be more impactful to your health and wealth than all healthy living and money-making habits combined. In theory, a person can smoke, eat junk food, be a couch potato, etc, for decades. However, even the healthiest and wealthiest can lose everything in a second due to a safety mishap. An accident can kill, incapacitate, or ruin anyone in a heartbeat. Sounds heart-breaking but it's true.

Think about it. If you are smart, you get the point. Improving safety, including emergency preparedness, should be your #1 New Year's resolution for 2025. Safety, or lack thereof, can have an oversized impact on everything else in your life, including the health and wealth that you care so deeply about.

How can you improve your safety? Well, find out. Make that your New Year's resolution. The information is out there. What you needed was someone to make you think about it so that you can take action. Every daily activity from chewing to walking, to riding and driving, can be done in a safer manner. Safety tips and methods are almost endless. Safety is a continuum. Your resolution can be to continuously improve on that continuum.

Below is a a list of the most common New Year's resolutions in ranking order.

  1. Have more money (earn more, reduce debt, save more)
  2. Lose weight (exercise more, eat better)
  3. Reduce stress (meditate, sleep better)
  4. Quit bad habits (smoke and drink less)
  5. Spend more time with family and friends
  6. Travel
  7. Learn a new skill or hobby

Note that the one in the bottom now for the masses, learning a new skill or hobby, could be the one on top of your list, making it specifically about learning more about safety and making the Safety First attitude your new skill and hobby in 2025.

Think about it, do it, thank us anytime.

When will the Tesla bubble burst?

December 11, 2024 When will the Tesla bubble burst?  We don't know Fools rush in. It's impossible to know exactly when the Tesla bubble will finally burst. Unfortunately for us at Creatix, we began shorting Tesla too soon. We are down almost 40% on our position as of today. We are not fooling ourselves thinking that we were ever make money on the short position. We truly doubt that Tesla can go down 40% any time soon.  We would love to add to the short position, but it would exceed our $3,000 limit on the stupid bets that we do for fun. We're not Mr. Beast. We have a very limited budget for ridiculousness. We would love to short Tesla tomorrow morning at the ridiculous share price of $424. Tesla is trading at an incredible 116 times earnings, which gives Tesla a market capitalization of $1.32 Trillion. Elon Musk added today $13.4 billion to his fortune. Yes, $13 billion in one day. Yesterday, he had added $11 billion. Yes, that's $24 billion in 2 days.  Six months ago, ...

Will prices go up or down during the Second Coming of Trump?

December 12, 2024 Will prices go up or down during the Second Coming of Trump? President-elect Donald Trump has acknowledged the difficulty of reducing grocery prices, stating, "It's hard to bring things down once they're up."  Lower Energy Costs and Better Logistics Trump hopes that lower energy costs and improved supply chains may prevent significant price increases on food. However, many economists believe that Trump's tariffs on foreign countries and massive deportation of illegal immigrants, which include millions of undocumented farm workers, will increase food prices.  Additionally, while Trump emphasizes the role that potentially lower energy prices may have in food costs, experts note that energy constitutes a relatively small portion of food production expenses. Energy prices may also increase despite experts forecasting that they will stay relatively low or go further down. After all, economists and financial experts are wrong often, almost all of the t...

Is there a Tesla bubble?

December 10, 2024 Is there a Tesla bubble? You bet. As of December 10, 2024, Tesla (Ticker: TSLA) is approaching an all-time high valuation, with a current share price of $401. The record closing price stands at $410, achieved on November 4, 2021. This gives the American electric car maker a market capitalization of $1.26 Trillion.  Tesla is trading at 110 times earnings. That is, while almost all car makers in the world trade at 7 times earnings in average, Tesla is trading at 110, which is 15 times the industry average.  Major Automakers (Excluding Tesla and Chinese car makers) ranked by P/E: Subaru Corporation (Ticker: 7270.T): 12.0 Suzuki Motor Corporation (Ticker: 7269.T): 10.0 Toyota Motor Corporation (Ticker: TM): 9.70 Isuzu Motors Limited (Ticker: 7202.T): 9.0 Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
