Can cancer save our democracy?
Imagine we fall trap to a charismatic populist leader to whom the majority of the electorate would want to grant authoritarian powers that would effectively end our democracy. Who would save our democracy? Cancer could be one of the many saviours.
In this post, what is cancer, will Trump rule the United States for life, is Trump the American Hugo Chavez, will Trump pass away like Rush Limbaugh, what is Trump's main weakness, how much longer will Trump be alive, who was Hugo Chavez anyways, who was Rush Limbaugh, how many Presidents have died of cancer, which U.S. politicians have died from cancer recently, and will Trumpism or Trumpianity last forever?
What is cancer?
Cancer is a group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells in the body. These cells can invade surrounding tissues and form tumors, disrupting normal body functions. Cancer often arises from genetic damage to DNA, which affect how cells grow and divide. There are many types of cancer depending on which organ of the body it originates. Genetics, environment, lifestyle, and certain conditions can increase the risk of developing cancer. Early detection and treatment improve the chances of managing the disease effectively. Common treatment methods include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and newer options like immunotherapy. Cancer can prove to be very painful, costly, and often lethal.
Will Trump rule for life?
To be sure, no one knows. The future has not been created yet. There's no destiny or fate. We are not part of a deterministic universe. We're not watching a movie with a predetermined ending. We are making and creating the future as we go. We're all in this together. There's no magic; just work.
Is Trump the American Hugo Chavez?
President Trump could become the American version of the late Hugo Chavez from Venezuela. Chavez was a charismatic populist leader who won elections in Venezuela, and assembled a team of loyalists to gradually take almost absolute political control of his country. When Chavez died of cancer, his former driver "inherited" all powers. To say the least, it didn't work well for Venezuela. This post includes more biographical information about Hugo Chavez.
What is Trump's main weakness?
Trump is a mortal human. Trump will not last forever. For those who don't like Trump or who fear that he may damage our democratic institutions, the hope is that he may share the path of the late Rush Limbaugh. For those who remember Limbaugh, he was a fierce conservative followed and adored by many. He was mortal too, dying of lung cancer. This post includes more biographical information about Hugo Chavez.
How much longer will Trump be alive?
No one knows. According to most doctors and scientists, at 78 years old, Trump is past his peak time in all health indicators. As any other almost octogenarian, Trump is like an airplane beginning descent. In the great scheme of things, Trump will be dead relatively soon.
In all likelihood, Trump will die within the next 20 years or less. In all likelihood, Trump's health will weaken within the next 10 years. Trump's physical and brain health will most likely begin to deteriorate noticeably and significantly within the next 5 years.
For all practical purposes, Trump is a short timer in this world. For as much as many Americans love and adore Trump, the country as a whole should be smart and strong about how to approach his popularity in light of his mortality. It would be dumb to give the Constitutional farm away to Trump. Those coming after him may not be as "superheroes" as Trump. That's essentially what happened with Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. That's what used to happen in European monarchies where the successors were not as great as their predecessors.

Who was Hugo Chavez?
Hugo Chávez (1954–2013) was a Venezuelan politician and military officer who served as the President of Venezuela from 1999 until his death in 2013. He was a highly influential and controversial figure known for his populist policies, charismatic leadership, and staunch anti-imperialist stance.
- Early Life: Born on July 28, 1954, in Sabaneta, Barinas, Venezuela. He joined the Venezuelan military academy and became a career military officer.
- Power: In 1992, Chávez led a failed coup attempt against then-President Carlos Andrés Pérez, which brought him national attention. He was imprisoned but later pardoned in 1994.Chávez founded the political movement Movimiento Quinta República (Fifth Republic Movement) in 1997. He was elected president in 1998, promising to address poverty, corruption, and inequality.
- Revolution: Chávez pursued what he called the "Bolivarian Revolution," named after Simón Bolívar, the 19th-century independence leader. His policies emphasized social welfare programs, land reform, and nationalization of key industries, funded largely by Venezuela's vast oil reserves.
- Constitution: In 1999, he initiated the drafting of a new constitution, which was approved by referendum. The new constitution expanded presidential powers and restructured the government. Chávez was re-elected multiple times under the new constitution, often amid accusations of authoritarianism by his opponents.
- Criticism: Critics accused Chávez of undermining democracy, stifling press freedom, and centralizing power. His government faced allegations of corruption and mismanagement, particularly in the oil sector, which became a major source of revenue.
- Legacy: Chávez's policies dramatically reduced poverty and improved literacy and healthcare for many Venezuelans, but they also contributed to economic instability, inflation, and dependence on oil revenues.
- Cancer: Chavez died from cancer on March 5, 2013, he was succeeded by Nicolás Maduro, his chosen successor, who continued his policies but faced growing political and economic crises.
Hugo Chávez remains a polarizing figure in Venezuelan and global politics, celebrated by supporters as a champion of the poor and criticized by detractors for his authoritarian tendencies and economic mismanagement.

- Legacy: Rush Limbaugh’s influence on American politics and media cannot be overstated. He was a pioneer in conservative broadcasting and played a key role in shaping the modern conservative movement. While his polarizing style and rhetoric made him a lightning rod for criticism, his ability to connect with millions of listeners earned him a dedicated following and lasting impact on the media landscape.
- Cancer: In February 2020, Limbaugh announced that he had been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. He continued hosting his radio show until shortly before his death on February 17, 2021, at the age of 70.

Can Cancer Save American Democracy?
Assuming that Donald Trump manages to become the American version of Hugo Chavez or Vladimir Putin, cancer could come to rescue our democracy. We wish Trump a happy, healthy, prosperous, and long life like we would wish to anyone else and to ourselves. We agreed with people who voted for Kamala to safeguard our democracy. We think that ChatGPT would have been a safer bet than Donald Trump.
In Trump's defense, he has been transparent about what he wants to do. There will not be any more elections he said. Trump is assembling a team of loyalists and soon-to-be billionaire oligarchs to orchestrate a power grab like never seen in our history.
Democracy may not be enough to stop Trump because the majority of American voters may vote for what Trump wants. Biology may rescue American democracy by weakening, and eventually recycling, Trump in a relatively short period of time.
Cancer may ultimately get rid of Donald Trump before any political or military opponent could. Mark this page. If the prediction comes true, give special thanks to McDonalds, Coke, the sugar industry, and all manufacturers and vendors of junk food in our country. Believers say that God works in mysterious ways. Let's enjoy the mysteries while they last. Life is short. You will die as well.
Now you know it.
Live well. Die better. Enjoy.
