Are we ready for WWIII? Part I. European Theater

October 10, 2024

Are we ready for WWIII?

No, we're not. No one is. Hopefully it never happens. A third world war, World War III (WWIII), would be devastating for all nations involved.

Let's begin a series exploring the world beginning with Europe. In the European Theater of WWIII, Russia would most likely be the main enemy of the west. Depending on the timing of WWIII, the current Russian-Ukrainian war may be seen by future historians as one of the first chapters of WWIII.

Let's learn, little by little, more about Europe. A typical question is how many countries are in Europe. Believe it or not, there is no consensus on the answer. The range varies from 46 to 51. For our purposes. we follow the United Nations list of 47 countries within Europe.

  1. Albania
  2. Andorra
  3. Armenia
  4. Austria
  5. Azerbaijan
  6. Belarus
  7. Belgium
  8. Bosnia and Herzegovina

Some countries, like Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Russia, span both Europe and Asia but are considered part of Europe for various political, cultural, and historical reasons.

European Land Mass and Population

Europe covers about 4 million square miles of land, which amounts to about 2% of the entire planet and about 7% of the Earth's total land area. Population is about 745 million, which represents about 9% of the total population of the world.

The percentages above are approximate and rounded for ease of reference. The list focuses on sovereign states and recognized territories. Some countries like Russia and Kazakhstan have only part of their territory in Europe, so only the European portions are considered.

Almost 50% of Europe is Already at War.

Russia accounts for 40% of European land, and 15% of its population. Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe, accounting for 6% of European land, and 5% of its population. It can be said that 46% of European land and 20% of European population are already at war.

Alternate potential headlines would be:

20% of Europeans are Killing Each Other. Is this the beginning of WWII?

20% of Europeans Are Already at War. Did WWIII begin already?

1 out of every 5 Europeans are at War. Is this the first chapter of WWIII

We don't know. No one knows.

Later on we'll discuss the wars at the Middle East to see how they fit into the WWIII picture. It takes two to dance. It takes two sides to begin a war. If the United States and China go to war later on, there will be enough fuel to fire a full blown WWIII.

Now you know it.

Live well. Die better. Enjoy.

Will AI enslave or free humans?

April 9, 2024 Who knows. The most likely scenario is that AI will free humans, not only from forced work for survival and that AI may become the new "slave". AI may also help humans turn into a more advanced (less biological and more artificial) species. Chances are that no human who is alive today will ever see that form of transhumanism materialize. Some current humans may likely live in a transitional phase where AI will continue replacing human workers in every field, allowing humans more free time to become the new "slave masters" on Earth.  We have discussed in many past articles slavery as one of the foundational technologies (tools and methods) developed by humans. All great human civilizations were built on the backs of slaves and slavery-based agricultural economies. The machines of the industrial revolution eventually replaced slaves and freed them globally. AI is the new "slave" and will lead to a new "slavery-based" economy that will

Who will win the debate tonight? Who won the debate?

June 23, 2024 Who will win the debate tonight? Who won the debate? Who won the debate between Trump and Biden in 2024? Did Trump win the debate? Did Biden win the debate? Who lost the debate? Did Trump lose the debate? Did Biden lose the debate? Who will win the elections? How many electoral college votes are required to win the elections? Who scored more points with independent voters in key battleground states in the debate between Biden and Trump?  Those will be common search queries tonight and next week. The answers will be opinions so they will be based on the bias of the source and will be accepted or rejected based on the bias of the audience. The fact is that the future has not been created yet. It is impossible to determine who won or lost the debate until after knowing the results of the elections in November.  The results of the November presidential elections are equally unpredictable. Creatix predicts that Joe Biden will win by a clear margin, wider than in 2020. Mark thi

Is AI new?

June 18, 2023 Not at all. Artificial intelligence (AI) has been around for a long time. AI refers to computer hardware and software mimicking human intelligence. Recent innovations in the specific field of Generative AI such as ChatGPT are making many people believe that AI is a "new" thing. In fact, AI has been around for a long time, and can be said to be as old as the first programmable electronic computers of the 1930s.  For more on the history of AI, and specifically for more about the history of Generative AI, check out this excellent article by TechTarget.com , What is Generative AI? Everything you need to know.  The article above will give you a very good idea about the history of AI, and where we are going next with the technology. Below are some additional notes to spark a few thoughts. The term "computer" was coined in the 1600s to describe a person making calculations and computations.
