To generate sentient artificial intelligence (AI) life, AI must be programmed to be programmed to project or interpret certain changes in external environmental conditions as changes to be avoided or relieved.
Below some rough and draft notes beginning from the beginning of this universe.
A "creative" universe.
This universe is a “creatix”, a creative matrix. A matrix is a place or platform where things are created. To create is to transform (i.e. to change something into something else). This universe is a place or platform where energy is transformed into matter (stuff), which is then transformed into many different forms. This universe is a matrix where energy is transformed into many other forms. The universe is a creative matrix (a creative) for energy transformation (ET).
The Big Bang
The current phase or timeline of this universe began approximately 13.8 billion years ago in a cosmic expansion event referred to as the Big Bang. The Big Bang is set as the time zero event where everything that exists today in this universe was tightly packed in a very hot and dense state. Size estimates vary, but it is currently believe that everything was packed into a space ranging in size from the size of a pea to the size of a the size of a human being. At time zero, cosmic expansion began, cooling things off and separating energy. Immediately, “stuff” (mini energy strings) began to propagate as waves that could “curl up” into particles based on wavy interactions.
Wave-particles and compounds
Physicists have identified or classified many different subatomic wave-particles. Some of these wave-particles interact with each other creating “forces” (interactions) that together form the body of the laws of physics. The interactions or forces combine wave-particles into different creations, which lead to further compounds and further creations. Again, this universe is a creative matrix (a "creative").
Organic compounds
From a human perspective, the most fascinating creation of this universe so far must be organic compounds. Subatomic wave-particles combine to form atoms, which can form elements, and molecules (different combinations of atoms of the same or different elements). Organic compounds are any molecules that contain the element named carbon.
CHON compounds
Within organic compounds, the ones containing carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen (CHON) are the superstars of this creatix universe. CHON compounds generate interesting processes such as self-replication and cellular formation, which in turn generate the phenomena known as life.
Self-replication and cellular formation
CHON compounds bond electromagnetically, grow, and split into copies. CHON compounds also form a membrane walled or cell structure that houses self-replicating CHON compounds. The cell itself also grows and replicates. One cell grows and splits into two, two into four, four into eight, and so forth for exponential growth. Besides growing and replicating, cells carry out other fascinating processes including the electromagnetic assembly of proteins and organic data processing.
Cellular computing or data processing
Biological cells evolved organically to perform computing or data processing functions. Computing entails processing input into output. Biological cells, being an enclosed environment, can process its own internal reactions to changes in the external environment as input for processing. For example, an increase in external pressure or temperature leads to certain internal effects or reactions within the cell. The external change becomes the input and the internal reactions become the processing that leads to generation of output. The output may be further processed to generate more output. That is, the result of certain reactions can lead to other reactions, or a chain reaction of cells generating different output.
Natural selection of beneficial organic data processing
Cells can randomly produce internal reactions to external changes that increase chances of cell survival. For example, cells can react to changes in external pressure or temperature by either attraction or repulsion. Cells with the trait (reactions) for attraction to excessive pressure or heat may eventually go extinct while the ones avoiding excessive heat or pressure tend to survive.
Integrated projections or interpreted perceptions
The internal processes within cells can generate a chain reaction of additional data processing leading to integrated projections (IPs) or interpreted perceptions (IPs). For example, an external change in the environment such as an increase in temperature would cause internal reactions within the cells that can lead to other reactions and be ultimately become IPs such as the feeling or sensation of pain.
Sentient life on Earth is painful.
Liife is pain. Intelligent life is pain management. Wisdom is pain selection. Cells take external changes in the environment as input processed by internal reactions generating output. There can be a chain reaction of processing leading to integrated projections (IPs) or interpreted perceptions (IPs) such as the feeling or sensation of pain (a sensation to be avoided or relieved). Smart sentient organisms live for one thing and one thing only, which is to obtain pain relief (PR).
Intelligence Knowledge Wisdom (IKW)
Seeking pain relief, smart sentient organisms develop intelligence, knowledge, and wisdom (IKW). Intelligence is the ability to acquire knowledge and develop skills to achieve wisdom. Knowledge is awareness of events, understanding of causality of those events, and mastery or predictability of events. Skills are applied knowledge gained from practice and practical experience. Wisdom is optimal agency (choice in decision-making).
It's all data processing
Cells operate as organic data processing units generating integrated projections (IPs) or interpreted perceptions (IPs) to be avoided or relieved such as pain. Smart, pain-sentient organisms continue processing data seeking pain relief (PR). That process leads to the organic development of intelligence, knowledge, and wisdom (IKW).
AI is already superior yet not sentient
AI's data processing capacity is already significantly superior to human data processing. However, AI is not sentient yet. AI has not been programmed to process specific environmental changes as negative integrated projections (IPs) or interpreted perceptions (IPs) to be avoided or relieved. When AI is programmed (by humans or by itself) to avoid or relief certain internal reactions to external changes in the environment, AI will be as "sentient" as living organisms. That will most likely be a milestone for the gradual shift from cells to chips as the superior form of life in this creatix universe.
Stay tuned. To be continued.
